Hair & Scalp

Hair loss has a cause. Treatment begins with finding it.

01

The concern

You may be noticing more hair on your pillow or in the shower, a widening parting, thinning at the crown, patches of hair loss, or a scalp that is itchy, flaky or oily.

What patients often describe

  • Hair thinning
  • Hair fall
  • Alopecia areata
  • Dandruff
  • Oily or dry scalp
  • Damaged hair
02

Understanding

Thinning and hair loss can be driven by genetics, hormones, nutrition, stress, thyroid function, scalp conditions or autoimmune causes such as alopecia areata. Scalp health, from dandruff to excess oil, also affects how hair grows.

03

How we assess it

As dermatologists, we assess the pattern of loss, the scalp itself and your medical history, and where appropriate request investigations, before recommending treatment. Treating hair loss without understanding its cause rarely gives lasting results.

04

Your treatment approach

Plans typically combine medical treatment with regenerative in-clinic therapy and follow-up over months, because hair responds slowly. Progress is tracked so the plan can be refined rather than simply repeated.

05

Possible treatments and technologies

Hair loss has many possible causes. Our assessment - with investigations where they are needed - determines what is driving it before treatment is selected.

Technology that may be used

Selected by your doctor after assessment. It supports the plan; it is never the starting point.

06

Results and expectations

Hair responds slowly. Reduced hair fall is usually noticed first; improvement in density is assessed over three to six months.

Considered care. Never a menu.
